Chicago Working Girl...the All-Weather Staples

What does Chicago love to Wear in the upcoming season and Why? In the style of Elle Magazine, some notes on how to wear and why:

The Holy Trinity:
  1. Gold Menswear Watch, i.e. Michael Kors chronograph
  2. Tory Burch Reva Flats
  3. Marc by Marc Jacobs Cross Body bag, any style
Chicago All-Weather Staples:
  1. Hunter Rain Boots
  2. Toms walking shoes
  3. Leather Jacket (great deals at Zara and Zara online)
  4. Red nail polish: Forever Young by Essie/ Deep Blue nail polish: any shade by Dior
  5. Riding Boots: check out the large selection at Nordstrom and
  6. Wedge Booties: Sam Edelman and the usual suspects at Bloomingdale's at 900 North
  7. Structured Wool Army Coat...belted!
Don't You Dare:
  1. Wear yellow nail polish on a daily basis. Just because Chanel came out with yellow for nails, doesn't mean you need it.
  2. Own a pair of jeans that are much too long and drag and rip on the pavement when you walk, causing a sloppy look that should have died with the 90s.
  3. Wear nude pantyhose with a dress when it is still warm outside. PLEASE STOP!
  4. Wear animal print EVERYTHING. Balance prints with neutrals...stay classic not crazy

P.S. What does everyone think of Topshop Chicago???

  1. SHE'S BACK!!! I've been waiting for your posts.

  2. I kind of disagree with your "Don't you dare Wear nude pantyhose with a dress when it is still warm outside. PLEASE STOP!"

Unless you have great legs (toned, tanned, perfectly shaved/waxed/lasered) I think nude pantyhose are appropriate as they make your legs look that much better.
