Square One...South Loop

I recently had the pleasure of joining the Friends and Family event at a new local establishment, recently launched in the South Loop neighborhood. Square One, owned and operated by a friend-of-a friend, Ron Vaisman, is a small urban corner spot that lives up to its 'country-chic' reputation. Located on the south west corner of 14th and Michigan Ave., the sophisticated bar/lounge is the perfect escape for a Sunday afternoon, with comfortable outdoor seating, refreshing white sangrias, and a swanky interior that's not overwhelming and over the top. High ceilings, rustic interior accents, light charcuterie bites, and a 22 bottle collection of craft beers create an intimate escape in a large urban environment. What's different about Square One vs. the other gastropubs poppin' up around town? The bar includes a self-service wine machine! Interested? Request a card from your bartender and choose from white, red, or sparkling and pay your tab at the end of the night by handing it back ;)
