Breakfast Power Bowl

Guess what? Earlier this year, after 4 years livin' out my momma's house, I finally realized that making a good ole' hearty breakfast is actually a BIG DEAL and it NEEDS TO BE DONE. Ever heard of the phrase, 'eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper'? Well, that is definitely one of my secrets to staying in shape - breakfast is everything! But having the right breakfast, with enough protein, vitamins, and super food is KEY - as that will set you up and get you going for the rest of the day. Here's a super easy (I hate to call this a 'recipe' as there's not much work to do) recipe for a mega-power breakfast:

Steel Cut Oats (use instructions on package for cooking): The low glycemic index of steel cut oats prolongs the feeling of satiety after eating by preventing rapid peaks and dips in blood glucose levels. *great for weight loss*
Blackberries: rich in Vitamin C and bioflavonoids, high antioxidants, low calories 
Goji Berries: powerful antioxidant, source of fiber, massive amounts of Vitamin C
Chia Seeds: loaded with antioxidants, high quality protein, high fiber, help in weight loss, provide sustainable energy, good source of calcium
Coconut Flakes: protein, fiber, iron, zinc
Almond Butter: high in calcium and copper minerals, healthy fats, fiber, magnesium, Vitamin E

*ingredient amounts at the discretion of eater! I put a handful of everything into my bowl
