Last week, I was graciously treated to a lovely spa experience at the Virgin Hotel Chicago's new spa! Following the success of the Virgin's numerous other openings (think Cerise, Miss Ricky's, etc.), the Spa at the hotel doesn't fall short. Nestled in the lower level of the edgy hotel, the spa is an intimate venue offering all of your needs - from cocktail peels, to hydrating facials, manicures, pedicures, and even nail art by a skilled manicurist! I, of course, chickened out of the nail art part and opted for my oh-so-typical red nail...thankfully the Virgin had my favorite shade (Clambake by Essie pictured below) and I can't tell you enough how long it has lasted me (California wedding ---> anxious plane rides ---> back to work Monday blues).

I also have to mention my facial experience with Virgin: now, just like many of you, I almost NEVER cheat on my cosmetologist and the amazing skin care regimen she has me on (more on this on a different post). But, given the amaze manicure I received and the overall experience I've had at the Virgin thus far, I said WTH and dove right in. Erica, the lovely master behind my facial, did something I swear I'm going to have to do every month - a triple cocktail peel, which includes a lactic, glycolic, and salicylic mix that completely overhauled my skin. Yes it burned, and yes it hurt, but it was INCREDIBLE! And if you're anything like me - then you will absolutely love it. The vibe at the Spa is also unlike any other - if you're looking for a quiet, ethereal, almost silent experience with yoga music in the background, then get ready for a much more lively time. I got to chat with Erica through out my facial experience and she recommended a few things (without overselling) that would work well for my skin. Overall, I can't recommend the Spa enough, and I highly encourage you to try it. And if you go, ask for Erica!
